An initiative of our Proprietress
The Great Nigerian Show
Celebrating Nigerians at home and abroad who are impacting the world positively — and telling the good story of the country we are proudly from.
Nigeria is not short of excellence. It is short of people telling the story.
The Great Nigerian Show was conceived and is convened by Engr. Omowumi Olaiya, Proprietress of Silver Spring International School. It exists to spotlight Nigerians — in Osogbo, across the country and in the diaspora — whose work in science, enterprise, education, culture and service is making the world better, and to place their stories in front of the young people who most need to see them.
At Silver Spring the initiative lives on our stage and in our classrooms. Pupils research and present Nigerian achievers, perform our dances and languages, dress in the attire of their heritage, and campaign for leadership positions before an audience of their peers and parents. It is civics, public speaking and national pride taught the way children actually learn — by doing it themselves.
